This past weekend the Worthy Chancellor and I were representing Council 9923 at the 108th Georgia State Convention . The State Deputy informed us that the State Council is in sound shape and our recruiting numbers are among the highest in the order and our fund raising and charitable programs are going strong.

He also said that the State has funds to obtain 5 ultrasound machines this year and the He mentioned us and asked that I stand and be recognized for our Herculean effort .Supreme Council has reached a tentative agreement with the protestant group that oversees the centers . All that is left to do is iron out the details.

On the subject of ultrasounds, the State Program Awards were presented at Saturday nights banquet dinner . I know that most of you were hoping to receive the award for Pro-life programs as was I .

Unfortunately due to an error on my part in sending the program form our entry was not received by the Program Director in time to be considered. Just as I was willing to accept all the praise from the many people all around the State, I must also accept the full responsibility for our effort not being recognized as one of the top Pro life programs in the State and ultimately the Order. I apologize for this error and believe me it will not happen again.

As this Fraternal year comes to a close we can look back and know that we have had a great year from our programs and charitable works to our great membership gains where we welcomed many great new Brother Knights to our Council ( and those new knights are already doing great work on our recent and current projects).

Our next event will be our cheese-steak sandwich sale at the Memorial Day Air Event at McCullum Field.

I would like to thank Brother Les Kavahazi for stepping up and taking charge. I sincerely hope that all of you will be willing to help at the event as I know Les does too. With as many as 10,000 people expected the opportunity to make some of the much needed money to fund our future good works . Please do what you can to help with this .

Finally , on Sunday June 27 our newly elected Council Officers will be installed as the leaders for the next year .

I would expect that all of you would want to show your support for your new leaders by attending the Installation of Officers after the 8:30 mass. Last year there were more Columbiettes in attendance then Knights .Please don't miss this chance to attend the ceremony and show your new Officers you are behind them . Later that day we will be having our annual Council Picnic.

Thank you for your help and kindness this year and we can all look forward to another great year to come
